The Seasons….

The seasons slowly turn

as the earth on it’s axis

slowly, the earth does the dance

of the changing days

Others, they look up and marvel

at the beauty and the turning

Inside my body

my muscles and tendons

ligaments and bones

cry out

as the seasons

wreak havoc within me

The beauty that others see

only causes me pain and torment

My body is a living, breathing

barometer

The pain rises as the changes come

the torment ripples through my flesh

as the falling temps

and wind and rain and snow

turns and changes and surges

through my aching, burning, howling

body

and soul.

Wishing pain did not exist but pain is also a measure of strength. Your piece is a testament to that. Truly beautiful.
